    Gramercy/Flatiron District

One of the most historic areas in New York, GramercyPark and the Flatiron District have quite a lot to offer. Spanning from about 30th Street down to 14th Street, and from the East River north to Fifth Avenue, Gramercy offers its residents a unique experience, in that it is extremely close to the hip downtown neighborhoods of Soho, Union Square, and the Village, while still maintaining an upscale, "uptown" vibe. The area is based around GramercyPark, the only private park in New York, which only residents of nearby homes are given access to. With beautiful pre-war and post-war high rises, as well as elegant townhouses and brownstones along the park built by famous architects, GramercyPark is a sophisticated, yet traditionally residential neighborhood that everyone will appreciate. Located nearby is the small neighborhood known as the Flatiron District, named after the famous FlatironBuilding (23rd and Broadway), which is so well known for its unique architecture. The Flatiron District stretches from around Union Square up to 26th Street, and from Park Avenue west to Sixth Avenue. The neighborhood is also home to MadisonSquarePark, a beautiful park home to the famous Shake Shack, spanning from 23rd to 26th Street along Madison Avenue. With many great restaurants, an active nightlife, and the close proximity to both uptown and downtown Manhattan, GramercyPark and the Flatiron District are both great places to live, and combine to form a highly desirable area in the center of New York. From the historic charm to the trendy vibe, the neighborhood is a place that appeals to young professionals, families, and older residents alike.
