The EastVillage is a colorful and energetic neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. Stretching from 14th Street down to Houston Street, and from The East River west to Bowery Street, the EastVillage encompasses an area rich in culture and history. Renovations and revitalization of the area has resulted in a hip, trendy vibe in the neighborhood, while still maintaining its influence from previous generations. Originally home to the Astors and Vanderbilts, the EastVillage then saw the influx of artists and hippies in the mid-1900’s, creating a richly diverse culture. The area has now given way to a vibrant nightlife, fashionable boutiques, and numerous art galleries, and a population of young professionals and families alike. With fantastic and spacious walk-ups, as well as a number of new apartment buildings being constructed, there are plenty of options for living in the EastVillage. Comprising of such smaller neighborhoods like AlphabetCity, the Bowery, and St. Mark’s Place, you will find something interesting to do or see wherever you are. With delicious cafes, many concerts and art showings, and a prime location, the EastVillage has transformed into a highly coveted place to live in New York.
